This is a polemic - hence disqualified - competition entry for the development of Zaķusala, an island on the River Daugava. The project, taking into account the shrinking population size of Riga and Latvia in general, aims to rethink the very need for any traditional development, and instead proposes to designate the island a special development zone where local planning laws would be suspended - over time leading to a chaotic parade of buildings and objects that each strive to be unique. One of the first proposed buildings is a geometrically perfect residential tower based on a 9-square grid.
